February Wrap Up | 2022

Hello, my fellow Spirals!

This month has not be a great one for me in terms of academia, or physical health. So naturally it reflected strongly in my reading. But I am listening to my body and mind and taking it slow. It’s completely understandable that I wasn’t in the right headspace to focus on books and spent more of time gaming instead.

Books I Read

  1. The Silence of the Girls (Pat Barker) – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  2. People We Meet on Vacation (Emily Henry)- ⭐⭐⭐🌗
  3. The Fold (Peter Clines) – ⭐⭐⭐
  4. Blood And Oil (Bradley Hope & Justin Scheck)- No rating

Favorite Book of the Month

Even though I gave The Silence of the Girls higher rating, I think I’d have to pick People We Meet on Vacation as my favorite book of the month. By no means do I consider this book as a good read but in comparison to the other books I read this month, this one wins. Also because it was a light read which I really appreciated during this hard time.

Least Favorite Book of the Month

I’ll pick Blood and Oil. I really didn’t enjoy this non-fiction book because it became so hard for me to focus on the names of the people and the story. I ended up skimming so much of this book.

Sorry you’ve had a not-so-good month. I had some good reads in February, from a 1950s novel that was very comforting to some modern novels – A Million Aunties was excellent – and a book about the pandemic.
