Hello, my fellow Spirals!
Having been an avid reader for the past few years and especially during the lockdown, I am quite excited to embark on this journey to share my reviews on the books I read, recommend some interesting books and read some of your recommendations as well.
About Me
I am Harini, an inquisitive and passionate learner. I am also currently a student in college pursuing Computer Science.
I have been obsessed with reading since I was 5 years old. But I fell out of the reading habit during my last few schooling years and initial college days. However, lockdown helped me get in touch with my reader side and since then I have been glued to books.
I have always wanted to discuss my thoughts on books and share it with others for a long time. I have dabbled with the idea of starting a blog dedicated to books for quite a few months and have finally taken the first step.
With this blog I hope to reach a lot of people and engage with the rest of the book community while learning a lot from it as well!
My Reading Taste
I am someone who reads pretty much anything and everything. Some of my most sought after genres are: science fiction, contemporary fiction, historical fiction, memoirs, science related books and thrillers. I am not so keen when it comes to fantasy or Young Adult books but I do definitely read them once in a while.
I have also been experimenting with some classics such as Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and so far I am definitely enjoying them.
Some of my most favorite books are:
- The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
- A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
- Recursion by Blake Crouch
- The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
- Big Bang by Simon Singh
Hopefully I get to add many more books to this list!
What To Expect
With the help of this blog, I want to engage with more people and share my thoughts about the books I read. I would love to encourage new readers to pick up books that are more suitable for them and which can encourage them to read more.
I also want to expand my reading tastes so I would definitely aim to pick up more obscure titles and provide you all with new books to add to your (never-ending) TBR pile.
With my reviews, I am going to be brutally honest about what I liked and disliked. But keep in mind that what I state on this blog is just my personal opinion and that shouldn’t stop you from picking it up or loving the book!
Added to this, I will also be posting some fun discussion topics surrounding books or academia.
Along with that I would absolutely love to hear your thoughts regarding any of the books mentioned and would totally appreciate any new recommendations you might have for me.
When Do I Post
I strive to bring you new and interesting content regularly. Currently I post every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday so do check them out. You can also subscribe to the blog by pressing Follow at the bottom or entering your email address to receive immediate notifications.
My Rating System
⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟 => Absolutely loved it!
⭐⭐⭐⭐ => Liked it a lot
⭐⭐⭐ => It was okay. Not great but not bad.
⭐⭐ => Did not like it
⭐ => Blasphemous
Also, I refrain from rating any non-fiction books. I feel it’s unfair to put a rating on the amount of knowledge you gain from reading it. However, I will DEFINITELY give a 5⭐ to any book that has become an absolute favorite of mine.
